An event that brings color to Shimabara’s winter with Christmas trees and illuminations. It began as a symbol of hope for recovery from the Unzen-Fugen Volcanic Disaster, and it is held in places such as Chuo Park and the arcade streets. Popular photo spots and “interactive illuminations,”  light up the area with around 200,000 lights. During the event, locations like Chuo Park and the arcade streets become magical places that everyon including families and couples can enjoy.
