European Holy Christmas

”European Holy Christmas” is a limited season event inspired by the authentic European Christmas. Feel the magical world by all attractions including Christmas Square, Melody of Christmas and Christmas Market.

Christmas Square; Around the city is adorned with dazzling illuminations that won the world’s top award.

Melody of Christmas; A heartwarming night show, featuring beautiful choir performances and light displays that fill the atmosphere with joy.

Christmas Market; A Place for immerse yourself in an authentic European Christmas. A three-story carousel can be experienced only here in Japan.

Kira Kira Festival (Sasebo city)

During Kira Kira festival, one of the winter tradition in Sasebo,  parks (including Shimanose Park, main venue of the event), streets, shopping arcade around the city are colored with 1million illuminations. Various events, held at the same time, is also must-check attraction.

Bayside of Light - Nagasaki Christmas 2024 (Nagasaki city)

From November to December, various spots around Nagasaki city (including Nagasaki Station, Dejima, and the historic foreign settlement in Minamiyamate, Dejima Wharf) are beautifully illuminated with sparkling LED lights. Together with the Christmas season displays at nearby churches, the area offers a breathtaking spectacle of lights.

Festivitas Natalis (Minami-shimabara city)

    Around 16th Century, the Jesuit secondary school “Arima Seminary” was established in Kita-Arima-cho, Minami-Shimabara for the first time in Japan. A group of four young men was sent to europe as the Tensho Embassy after learning western music, art, astronomy, Latin, and religion there. 
    "Festivitas Natalis" is a Christmas event which recreates the atmosphere at that time. You can see the Nanban (western) culture including cuisine, song and a procession of 200 people dressed in their unique costume. A giant christmas tree is also a must-see attraction.

Shimabara Winter Night Fantasia (Shimabara city)

An event that brightens up Shimabara's winter with a giant Christmas tree and dazzling illuminations. Themed areas such as the "Couples Zone," "Animal Zone," and "Character Zone" are beautifully lit with vibrant illuminations, offering enjoyment for couples and families alike.

Tabira Park Hikari no Festa (Hirado city)

Tabira Park is entirely  illuminated with 160,000 lights. Visitors can enjoy unique illuminations, including handmade objects crafted from locally thinned wood and a tunnel adorned with lights of the park’s wisteria trellis.

Limestone Cave of Light (Saikai city)

The "Cave of Light" illumination event is held at Nanatsugama Limestone Cave, a nationally designated natural monument in Saikai city. The tunnel section of the tourist route is lit up with approximately 30,000 LED lights, featuring hand-crafted decorations.
Inside the cave, the temperature remains around 14°C year-round. The warmth makes visitors can enjoy the illuminations during even winter!

Unzen Akari no Hanaboro (Unzen city)

"Unzen Akari no Hanaboro" is a light-up event inspired by frosty fog. During the event, the town is illuminated with glittering lights. In addition, fireworks is normally shot in the sky from the center of town on a day of the event.
Experience the enchaunting world of steam, lights and fireworks sparkling in the clear night sky.
