In addition, it has been confirmed that there are dwelling sites from that time and the remains of Japan's oldest port here. A museum where you can enjoy learning the history of Iki-no-shima
Iki, which is located between China/Korea and Japan, flourished in trade and is a historic island that was introduced in a Chinese history book nearly 2,000 years ago. This museum exhibits a number of valuable materials excavated from various archaeological sites on the island. Especially popular are the experience corner where you can touch earthenware and stoneware used by people at that time, the view theater where you can learn about the history of Iki and a diorama that reproduces the way of life at that time. Try some quizzes at the huge diorama or do a simulated earthenware excavation that is fun for both children and adults while also learning about history. Of course, the exhibit introductions and audio guides are available in three languages: English, Chinese and Korean. Therefore, overseas visitors can also enjoy learning.

Iki's cattles are raised on pasture rich in minerals, due to the influence of the sea breeze, so the meat quality is soft and tender. You can feel a quiet and mysterious power at Tsukiyomi Shrine which boasts traditions and status with a steep stone step path starting from its torii gate. It is said that the god here does everything concerned with the moon (e.g., the calendar and the rising and pulling of the tide). The story also goes that he listens to prayers for safety and safe voyages. This shrine is considered the original shrine of the Tsukiyomi Shrines found all over Japan. Traditional Iki kagura (ancient Shinto music and dancing) is dedicated to the gods at the regularly held festival here. This serves as a prayer to the gods.

【Day 3】Kojima Shrine
"Mont Saint-Michel of Japan"
Kojima Shrine is located on an island in the sea. The approach road from the sea appears for only a few hours at low tide. Only then can you walk to this shrine. It is a mysterious location thought to be flowing with mystical energy where you can meet the gods due to the gravitational pull of the sun and the moon. This feature means it is also called the "Mont Saint-Michel of Japan." You can see this mysterious space created by nature. This entire island is considered sacred precincts. Therefore, you are not allowed to take even one twig off the island. You can take photographs, so why don't you visit these sacred precincts that remain in modern times protected by nature while checking the time of low tide?
