Nagasaki Ikedoki Tea is based in Higashisonogi, the main tea-producing region of Nagasaki Prefecture. The gorgeous views of outstretched tea fields with a backdrop of the enchantingly beautiful Omura Bay on one side and forests & hills on the other side are unique in Japan and definitely a sight to behold.
An easy day trip from Nagasaki city with a direct train from Nagasaki station to Sonogi Station (with picturesque ocean view from the train), this is your opportunity to learn about Japanese tea culture and Nagasaki’s unique teas in particular.
During the 4 hour tour you will visit the tea fields, tour a small tea factory, learn about Japanese tea and local tea history, and of course drink lots of tea! Lunch at a local restaurant is included in the tour price & schedule.
Tour schedule:
・Introduction to Japanese teas and local history
including a welcome tea
・Tea field visit
・Tea factory tour
・Lunch at a local restaurant (included in tour price)
・Tasting of many of the local teas, including:
