They enshrine the Statue of the Eleven Faced Kannon(or the Goddess of Mercy) which is said to be curved by the great priest Gyoki during his stay in this temple in 710. It is one of the seven famous kannon statues in Kyushu Island. "Shiman-rokusen-nichi Festival" is held from August 8th to 10th every year, and it is said that if you visit and pray once during this festival, it is as effective as praying for 46,000 days(Shiman-rokusen-nichi). You'll be also able to enjoy the fair stalls that still remain the same atmosphere as it had in the past.
