Walk about 20 minutes from Unzen Onsen Town to this campground of around a hectare on the shores of Lake Shirakumo. Surrounded by an abundant natural world, it offers views of the landscape of Heisei-Shinzan from the lakeshore. It is popular as a cool resort area in summer, and when the leaves change in the fall, the colorful trees are reflected on the lake surface, creating a magical landscape. 
Nearby, Mt. Kinugasa stands 879 m high. You can enjoy climbing it in around 30–40 minutes. The trail path is home to wild birds, making this a perfect location for bird watching. Make the most of the view from the peak: the onsen town and beautiful mountains of Unzen.
