Built in 1866, this lighthouse was one of eight built in accordance with the Edo Treaty and is Japan’s first hexagonal western-style iron lighthouse. Although it has been reconstructed to appear as it did before the atomic bomb, the dome’s shape has been consistent for over 130 years.
