"Harbor Town Sasebo" has Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force, Japan Coast Guard, and the U.S. Navy, conveying the history of "Naval Port". "Sasebo Heavy Industries (a.k.a. SSK)" used to be the naval arsenal. Sasebo Port connects Goto, Saikai, Hirado and other islands. It has various historical stories beginning when it was just a small fishing port.
