Fugen-dake is one of the main peaks of Mt. Unzen. From there, you can closely view “Heisei-Shinzan”, which is the newest mountain peak formed in Japan when lava emerged from the eruption of Mt. Unzen between 1990 – 1995. The mountain showcases the scenic view of each season, especially in fall when the autumn foliage dresses the mountain in red and orange colors.
